Rotterdam Details

Our next step is a guest spot in Rotterdam's 'Musicals in Ahoy' 2006', from 17th - 28th May. It is a night of songs from the shows in which we'll be peforming a medley from current broadway show 'Jersey Boys', and our favourite from Edinburgh 2006 'Sit Down You're Rocking The Boat'. So don't expect to see us on stage for too long! We're basically there to generate interest in the Vox Pop run we'll be doing in Amsterdam in the Autumn.

You can find more details about the show here.

Berlin VP Pics

It looks like Mikey beat me to it but I thought I'd add a couple of my own thoughts about the Berlin Vox Pop experience.

I think we'd be very able to say that the Berlin run exceeded everyone's expectations. Initially we were worried about attendance numbers but in the end the attendances were fantastic. 1000's came out to see the show and we loved playing in the Schiller Theatre.

Kudos definitely should go to the publicity team at Semmel and Backrow who did the most fantastic job in promoting the show. There were posters all over Berlin, including this one from the underground.

It was very exciting to travel on the busses and U-bahn's of Berlin and see our posters everywhere...and we mean everywhere!

Thank you to everyone too at the Schiller who were great to work with.

Now to three weeks of serious relaxing and catching up with friends who thought we all moved to Abu Dabi or places further afield...yes we do still exist!!

I leave with a picture of the band just after a show...and yes we are all wearing our makeup still...we kind of liked it!

Vox Popping in Berlin

We returned to the UK yesterday after two very successful weeks in Berlin where initially 'catastrophic' ticket sales were turned into a near sell out in the last week at the Schiller Theatre. Brilliant work by the promotions team got us some of the best TV and radio publicity we've ever had, and we were thereby able to convince 1000s of hard-to-please Berliners that our show was worth a try. Thanks to everyone who came to see us, and we hope you'll follow our progress as we develop Vox Pop the show, and The Magnets music.

We've certainly been delighted to be able to sustain such large audiences in Hamburg and Berlin, way beyond what we've been able to achieve before. Our next stop is Rotterdam in May, with bookings after that dependant on the hard work being put in by our production company, Back Row. While there are still improvements to make in the new show, having only had three weeks to develop it before the Hamburg run, it feels like we're on the right track.

Like the other boys I'll certainly be taking a few days to rest and enjoy some time at home. Then we'll be working on the songs we need to arrange for Rotterdam and thinking about some new tunes for Vox Pop. Then sometime we need to think about recording the songs from the show. Also, Nic has promised to update the website, so look out for that in the next few days.
