Election night in the studio

Given that we were singing at the Labour Party's election night party in 2001, it was odd to spend election night 2005 in the recording studio. Steve, Jon the producer and I were working on a new track of mine called Something About That Girl, and put in a late one, recording until 4.3oam.

Being an ardent politico I'm was really glad the studio has broadband and that I could watch the coverage on BBC1 in between takes. Given that the result was much closer than it might have been, the adrenaline created actually made singing much more fun. It is often hard to get motivated in the confines of a little booth, and a little bit of nervous energy goes a long way to helping get over that.
